Since April 2015, VRT have deployed Factum Radioscape’s market leading digital radio broadcast system to provide reliable and stable encoding and multiplexing. With the support of our partners, VRT have now successfully upgraded their services from DAB to DAB+ in Antwerp, Limburg, East Flanders, West Flanders and Flemish Brabant.
Factum Radioscape’s encoding software, with its high-quality audio codec library, combined with VRT’s move to DAB+ will deliver all the benefits of the latest digital broadcast technologies.
The VRT, or Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (Flemish Radio and Television Broadcasting Organization), is the national public-service broadcaster for the Flemish Region and Community of Belgium. The VRT broadcasts radio channels in both analog format (FM and AM) and digital format (using DAB and DVB-T).
Managing Director of Factum Radioscape, Thomas Durkin said:
“Factum Radioscape has been providing digital radio broadcast systems to Belgium since 1997, and it’s great to see the region go from strength to strength as the DAB+ wave across Europe continues. There is more to come from the Factum Radioscape broadcast system in the coming year and we look forward to sharing our updates with VRT and all our customers”.
